Statement of Faith

WE BELIEVE IN GOD, that he is the one and only true God (Isaiah 45:5-6). I believe that God displays all the attributes of Goodness, Grace and Mercy (Exodus 34:6), Holiness and Justice (Psalm 99), Immutability (Hebrews 6:17), Infinity (1 Timothy 1:17), Life (Acts 17:24-28), Love (1 John 4:8), Patience (Romans 15:5), Sovereignty (Deuteronomy 10:14), Truthfulness (John 14:6), Omnipotence (Revelation 19:6), Omnipresence (Psalm 139:7-12), and Omniscience (Job 37:16).

WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY TRINITY (2 Corinthians 13:14), composed of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each being individual entities of the one true God; We believe that there is God the Father (John 15:26), God the Son (Matthew 3:17), and God the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16), all separate, but in unity within the one God. When we speak of God, the three-fold nature is unified and complete.

WE BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST, Son of God (Matthew 3:16) and Son of Man (Luke 2:6-7). We believe He was born of the Virgin Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit, incorporating both man and God. We believe Jesus Christ is fully man, having been born out of Mary’s womb; that He felt human emotion and human suffering, human joy (Luke 10:21) and human sadness (John 11:35), human compassion (Matthew 9:36) and human anger (Mark 3:5). Yet He is fully God, conceived by the seed of the Holy Spirit; that He had the ability to perform miracles, and communicate directly to His Father God. We believe that Christ died on the cross at Calvary as a propitiation of our sins (Romans 3:25), freeing us from the bonds of sin in our lives and for all mankind. He was buried in the tomb, and after three days He rose from the dead (Luke 24:1-12), presenting himself to His disciples and many others and after forty days he ascended to the right hand of His Father (Acts 1:1-11). We believe that He now acts as an advocate for mankind, assuring forgiveness for our sins (1 John 2:1).

WE BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, one of the Trinity, breathed into us at our creation (Genesis 2:7), and dwelling within us through our lifetimes (Job 33:4) to be realized at the time of our salvation and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our personal savior (Ephesians 4:30). We believe the Holy Spirit acts in our lives to create in us an attitude of service to the Cross of Christ, and to the Church (Romans 8:13). The Holy Spirit works in the lives of the believers for service (Acts 1:8), and are promised the power for service to Christ in the world. We believe that the believer is sealed with the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of our inheritance until the second coming of Christ and the judgment of mankind (Ephesians 1:13).

WE BELIEVE IN THE SCRIPTURE, the absolute Word of God, complete and inerrant (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We believe that the Scriptures were passed down from God through His chosen authors (2 Peter 1:21), and that even though written in the individual styles of the authors, it remains God’s Word in its entirety, without error, and not subject to question or dispute. We believe the Bible was compiled through a canon of God’s select individuals, and that only those Scriptures designated by God were included within its construction. We believe that the Holy Bible provides divine inspiration to lead and guide individuals in their faith in God and Jesus Christ, as well as providing inspiration for Christian values and living (Hebrews 1:1-2). We believe the Scriptures also provide revelation of things to come, especially regarding the end times and Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:1-2).

WE BELIEVE IN THE DOCTRINE OF SALVATION that through the Grace of God and Blood of Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary all mankind has been given the opportunity for salvation from the bondage of sin. We believe this salvation is available to all who accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and have faith in Him (Ephesians 2:8-9), that any who seek a personal relationship with Him may be saved and cleansed of their sins by the blood of Christ (1 John 1:7). We believe that God’s Grace (Ephesians 2:5, 8) is received through faith in Jesus Christ. I believe in justification (Romans 5:9) and sanctification (1 Corinthians 1:30) by God’s Grace through faith in the completed work of Christ.

WE BELIEVE IN THE DOCTRINE OF MAN, that he has been, both male and female, created spiritually in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), given the ability to think freely and has been endowed with free will (2 Corinthians 8:12). We believe that man has the inherent nature of sin (Ephesians 2:1-3), stemming from the original sin and the curse placed upon man by God in the Garden. We believe sin is within all man since the fall, and only through the Salvation provided by Christ may a man be free from the bondage of sin (Romans 5:14). Yet man will continue to sin, and must be continuously seeking forgiveness (Colossians 1:14).

WE BELIEVE IN THE SACRAMENTS, first of Baptism, which is to be administered at the point of conversion (Acts 2:38); that baptism is meant for those who may grasp the reality of their faith in Jesus Christ and are aware of its meaning (Acts 19:2-5). We believe in the baptism by immersion, dependent upon circumstances, or pouring, or sprinkling. Immersion is symbolic of the Death of Christ, His burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:4-6). Under each condition, Baptism must be done in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as dictated by the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19). The second Sacrament is the Communion, which is to be administered only to those professing faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone partaking of the sacrament without first having faith in Christ drink and eat in an unworthy manner and will be guilty of “the body and blood of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:27). We believe that the sacrament of Communion is a symbolic sacrament, memorializing the Lord’s Supper, and the drinking of the wine and eating of the bread, symbolic of the partaking of Christ’s blood and body (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). We believe that Christ is in our presence during communion, spiritually, as with the sacrament of Baptism; as with the presence of the Holy Spirit.
